firstly... I promise I'm ripping stuff that's legal, it's just public access anyway. besides, it should ALL be legal, I fucking own the dvd so I may as well be able to put it on my stupid ipod.

anyway, I don't want to buy a program to do it, i'm just wondering if there's a good free program, or a trial I can use. I don't know jackshit about what to search for, but all I know is that I have a 30gig ipod that doesn't have any cartoons on it and that makes me angry.

I just searched on google for something like "dvd ripper convert ipod"

I found one that rips dvds and transfers them to the m4v file which plays on iPods which is really good.

I'd just suggest looking around and trying to find one without a limited free trial or just plain good.

The name of mine was "Magic DVD ripper". Not the best program but it does what I want it to.

yeah, I found one that worked fairly well, but it was a trial, so once I watched it there was a massive watermark in the centre of the screen.

I'll try the one you suggested out.

I used one called imToo DVD to iPod Converter. Don't have it now but I've been meaning to get it back. It worked really well.

Thanks for making this topic. I got a 30 gig iPod video from work in October, and have yet to add any movies/video's to it, cuz I didn't know how!

magic dvd works excellentely, I must say.

no watermark, seems legit, good video and sound/

I put the first 36 minutes of that zoo tv dvd on my ipod today, cause I didn't have time to do the whole thing.

but i'll do that some other town.

and omg watching book revue on ipod = win.
