Does anyone else regularly cook? Have pictures or recipes? Cooking tips? I don't have a very strong cooking community where I live so the internet is where I go.

I just cook some of the lasagna noodle flats out, it's a three layered by the way. For the sauce, it was pretty basic, some canned tomato sauce, fake sausage, a whole onion, green peppers, and mushrooms, some olive oil and red wine, one of the best sauces I've ever made. For a cheese substitute, I took tofu and oil olive and put them in the food processor and it looked just like ricotta. I put it in the oven for 40 minutes at 375 and wait a little for it to cool down. Eat it with some garlic bread or oil a spice blend(Recommended: Steak Seasoning with the Olive Oil).

I ran out of regular potatoes, so I was forced to use a sweet potato, but I'm glad I did. The sausage is imitation and the onions are real. But what I don't have the pictures of is when I put the black bean salsa in, very very good.

Start with the sausage in a well sprayed pan and cook that until it's become crispy and you can see the sides turning a bit brown. Take them out of the pan and set them by themselves and using the same pan put a little bit of canola oil in the pan and put in the potato. I cubed them, to make them bite size. Cook those until the sweet potatoes are a little soft. Then throw in the onions. Cook until the onions are a little brown and mix with salsa and enjoy!

I'll post some of my concoctions here later. When I smoked more often I made lots of original recipes. Full chicken enchilada was probably my favorite, and my oyakodon take is pretty neat too.

And zaq that looks really fucking good.

Yeah, I cook pretty regularly. I make a mean chicken/tofu stir fry, various pasta and vegetable dishes, breakfast stuff, and steak chili... although I don't really make the chili anymore, since I'm phasing out red meat from my diet. I'm also good at some mexican stuff, but I always feel too guilty to use as much oil as you should, so they don't turn out as good as in the restaurants.

Yeah, maybe I'll post some recipes... although, I don't really use recipes that much (unless I'm baking) - I'm one of those "cook by feeling" people.

Ian and I made pad thai the other day. It is freaking complicated, and let me tell you... if you plan on ever eating it, don't cook it. Fish sauce smells like someone's ass while it's cooking. I seriously gagged, like, three times.

Yeah. Seriously, it's amazing that something that smells like that while it's cooking can taste so good when it's done. Yikes.

I consider myself king of the stir-fry.

And by that I mean that I would love to know how to stir-fry.

I can do a pretty good job with one of those frozen noodle-and-sauce packages, though. I just cook some onions and green peppers, add some chicken, and I get something like this...

I'm trying to teach myself how to cook, but the only dishes I really cook regularly are baked tomatoes (for lunch) and various breakfast items, because of all the stuff we have at home the only things we seem to have consistently are eggs, and oddly enough I only recently figured out how to make good scrambled eggs. If salads count, I have a couple I make that are really good... fresh mozz, grape or sliced up tomatoes, croutons, some parmesan, and balsamic vinaigrette on romaine; craisins and couscous on mesculin/spring mix again with balsamic vinaigrette. Unfortunately I usually use Newman's but I'd like to figure out how to make a good homemade one.

Over the summer I've cooked a bunch of random things: pork dumplings (pretty good), pancakes (also very good), really really homemade tomato sauce (2lbs of orange and yellow tomatoes... didn't really get to eat much of it, added an almost unbearable amount of basil unfortunately), and pasta caprese come immediately to mind. I like tomatoes a lot if you haven't noticed.

My baked tomato recipe is vaguely adapted from some Martha Stewart thing... I just take whatever tomatoes are around (usually a tomato from the vine, the plums where I shop never look any good though that's probably better for baking), core them, cut them in half, sprinkle them with salt, pepper, thyme, and a bit of olive oil. I bake them for an indeterminate amount of time (roughly half an hour) around 325 in the toaster oven and then I usually put some shredded parmesan on top. I really like them.

I make my own spanikapita, extra garlic Bonnie style tzadziki and fry up some haloumi and chorizo for a bona fido meal for several.

I just found this insane good brand of dolmathakia with eggplant and peppers too, even though I didn't make them (I haven't tried making a traditional recipe) I'm definately going to include some next time around.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: had onea those dolmathes with some haloumi tonight... excellent, approve, etc. gonna have to try making some of these little fuckos and see if I can improve the recipe!

I hate stir fry.

I make packaged cookies. Devastated.

Actually, a fun thing to do is get one of those tube peanut butter cookies and tube brownies, and put the cookies down on a pan, spreading the brownie around them. The brownie will expand, making some awesome brownie/cookie bars.

I've made cookie pizzas before that were quite good.

Chocolate chip cookie crust, brownie toppings, then we put marshmallows on as it was cooling for good measure.
