The "e" is pronounced like the "e" in "pet". http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=jerry
Click the pronounciation key.

Well, Y2K did think this up himself right?

So, we'll see what HE had in mind for it.

I have never heard it pronounced that way. Though really, it kind of matters more how Y2K would pronounce it... Could we get this cleared up?

School and wool don't rhyme? I looked them up on dictionary.com, and they do.

Jerry rhymes with Mary and Scary.

Not where I come from. Neutral

EDIT: School and wool in fact do not rhyme.

And neither do Jerry and Mary.
Hey, School and Wool do rhyme, even if you do say Wool wrong. It's called an eye rhyme.
Or I guess iRhyme, in today's world.

That's a totally different thing, though. I doubt he was thinking of an eye rhyme when he made this problem, as some people probably don't even know what it is.

No, you're wrong. http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?va=wool

Razz

Non-regional diction for the win.

EDIT: \/ At this point I'm just arguing with ITS about the actual pronounciation, not Y2K's.

Yeah, eye rhymes are considered for this problem.

Jerry --> Mary
School --> Wool

and so on, PM or post here to clear up any future confusion.

Yes, that was a hint; and anyone with a basic understanding of poetry would probably get it.

Because all poetry follows the same scheme.
