Welcome to Socks and Vinegar Monopoly!

Since I wanted to use this new Monopoly board I got for Christmas, I figured I would use it to host an online game of it on Socks.

I'm assuming you all know how to play Monopoly, but there are a couple of house rules I employ, such as:
1. Collect double money when landing on Go - simple rule, collect 400 bucks when you land on go and 200 when you pass it.

2. Free Parking Pays - The bank will start off by putting 50 dollars on Free Parking. Whenever somebody pays a luxury or income tax, that money goes to free parking, or whenever somebody pays a fee from a chance or community chest card, the money goes there too. When somebody lands on Free Parking, they collect all the money on it and another 50 dollars is added to the space again.

Any other good house rules may be accepted.

How the game will actually work is that in the thread I will post a picture of the current board, and in turn, people will say what they want to do in their turn. I haven't decided on dice rolling yet, but it will either be me doing all of the dice rolling or a public rolling on mIRC (which might prove more inconvenient for some people, including me).

Now, as for the number of players, the game says up to 8, but I'm thinking 6 might be the most I can do, however if demand is high enough, I might raise the number of people playing.

I'm usually the hat, but in Australia it's usually a fedora... I don't like top hats as much. Neutral

also I love monopoly so I couldn't pass this up. are we allowed to buy properties on the first shot?

now, I don't understand the properties in the US version very well, I'm used to the English names (mayfair, piccadilly etc.), so if anyone could fill me in that'd help.

hmm, those names are really boring... just what i think. are any of you guys familiar with the british names? they're more memorable because they all sound different, rather than all being something avenue and something place. doesn't matter 'fcourse though.

Yeah, if you weren't allowed to buy properties on the first time around the board it'd be listed in house rules. I was thinking of including that, but read the rules over and found out that's not an official rule.

Also, that's six players. If there are enough other people that want to sign up, I'll let you guys decide whether or not you want 2 more players.

Also, how should dice rolling work? Any suggestions, or should I just roll over here?

just roll for us. And yeah, I've never heard of any "don't buy properties on the first trip around" rule. Sounds dumb.
