I'm going to Toronto for a long weekend next week. I'm looking forward to visiting the Distillery District, eating some ethnic food, and possibly catching a show. Has anyone else been?

Share your stories of vacations to foreign cities.

I've been to Niagara Falls, Canada. That's fairly close to toronto.

Yeah, awfully touristy, but screw it. Those waterfalls were great. And due to a screwup on the hotel's part, I stayed in a way higher priced room than I would have gotten with an enormous window that looked right out onto the falls. The hotel probably had the best view of the falls around.

But yeah, my advice is to not just stick to the big attractions wherever you are. The little kitschy things are often fun too.

I've never been overseas, but my sister got held up by knife-point in Albania, which is pretty sweet.

went to toronto once but i was only about 11 or 12, too young to really appreciate much. i only remember the cn tower and the blue jays game we saw, but i remember having a good time in general. i'm probably going to boston at the beginning of next summer for some kind of 'forum on medicine' thing i was invited to by my school, but i feel like that will just be a disappointment. as much as i'd like to run around town there i know i won't have any free time so the whole trip might just be frustrating. i am also not very interested in the field of medicine, but my parents suggested it, so i wasn't about to refuse a trip to boston.

I'm living in Toronto right now! Imagine that!

The distillery district is definitely one of my favourite parts of town. Since then I haven't been downtown that much though, sadly.

Yep, the second one.

Also, I've never been out of the country. Isn't that so sad? However, I am really hoping I can study abroad in Ireland or Scotland next year.

I haven't really been out of the country, either. This summer, though!

Well, I'm in Oakville which is like a 20 minute drive from downtown. I guess it isn't technically Toronto but it's close enough.
