I've known a fair amount of vegans. I personally have nothing wrong with it but you have to consider what being vegan means.

Being vegan means NO BUTTER and NO EGGS.

Those are key ingredients in ALOT of foods. I personally don't see why you would want to be vegan "just to be vegan" because it really just sounds like a headache trying to find vegan recipies for so many things. One of my vegan friends went insane when she first got a recipie for vegan brownies.

I was a vegetarian for a number of years. I didn't wear leather, eat anything with gelatin (no Altoids, boo) or eggs. I tried being vegan for a couple months, but I couldn't pull it off. I like cheese too much. I think everyone should try it. It really is a character building experience. Oddly, the highlight was rediscovering the taste of meat after I gave it up.

Also, Twinkies have beef in them.

I always like to point out canine teeth and an underdeveloped appendix to anyone who says humans shouldn't eat meat.

humans have canines for a reason.
to tear the flesh off of the bones of a recently speared buffalo.

ooooor, to chew the unreasonably priced soy pattie from your local school cafeteria.

either way, humans are meant for meat.
core reason: protein
meat provides concentrated amounts of amino acids. they are the crucial building blocks of DNA/RNA, which everyone knows, we need.

I'm not saying you have to eat meat to get these amino acids. I'm just saying it would be a harder diet to maintain to get those essential nutrients.

I don't think anyone here is arguing that humans aren't meant to eat meat. The arguemnet is if he should choose a paticular diet/lifestyle that prohibits eating animal product. There's a difference. Many people (including Einstein, by the way) would argue that it would benifit many people to live a vegitarian or vegan lifestyle.
