If anyone was interested in watching the video I was talking about, click link, type in little three-letter bit in the upper right-hand corner, wait 45 seconds, then download.
I love this video.

On the subject of writing....
Tacofiend3 (10:50:52 PM): Well, it's not like I don't have room for improvement either...
mushroompie27 (10:51:09 PM): I don't. :p
Tacofiend3 (10:51:31 PM): Yeah Luke, after all, you're the perfect writer...
mushroompie27 (10:51:36 PM): Of course.
Tacofiend3 (10:52:07 PM): The apex of literature...
mushroompie27 (10:52:13 PM): Just yesterday, Stephen King called me up. "Hey, Luke, my editor's really bugging me for a new book." "Fine," I said with a sigh, "but this is the LAST time, King!"
Tacofiend3 (10:52:38 PM): So that's why King's books sucked so much...
mushroompie27 (10:52:47 PM): =(
Tacofiend3 (10:52:51 PM): Heh heh _________________

mushroompie27 (10:52:56 PM): This Zelda CD is pretty awesome.
Tacofiend3 (10:53:07 PM): Really now?...
mushroompie27 (10:53:12 PM): The only song that's frustratingly absent is the Stone Tower Temple.
mushroompie27 (10:53:20 PM): Which I'm sure was on that other MM CD they had.
Tacofiend3 (10:53:24 PM): I didn't like that anyway.
mushroompie27 (10:53:32 PM): Ah man, I loved that song.
mushroompie27 (10:53:43 PM): I think that song is the only reason I like that temple so much.
mushroompie27 (10:53:57 PM): Well... you do get to fight grim reapers and ninjas...
mushroompie27 (10:54:18 PM): Well, vampires moreso than grim reapers.
Tacofiend3 (10:54:32 PM): I don't particularly like that temple. I just used a guide to through it.
Tacofiend3 (10:54:54 PM): I was pretty fed up with MM at that point...
mushroompie27 (10:54:59 PM): I didn't find the temple itself all that hard. Now, collecting all the fairies in it? I was going nuts.
mushroompie27 (10:57:03 PM): I dunno, gameplay-wise I don't really consider MM to really have anything over the other Zeldas. But, it's just so chock full of atmosphere. If an animated series were ever made based on Zelda, MM would definitely be the best choice, at least in my opinion.
Tacofiend3 (10:57:41 PM): I'd have to go with WW.
mushroompie27 (10:57:46 PM): That would be good too.
mushroompie27 (10:58:30 PM): I think I'd like a light-hearted, almost but not entirely kid's series based on WW, and a really serious one based on MM.
mushroompie27 (10:58:43 PM): The WW one would obviously have to become awesome at the end though.
mushroompie27 (10:59:13 PM): I guess... sorta like Teen Titans. It's usually kinda kiddy and meh, but the endings of story arcs usually have you on the edge of your seet.
mushroompie27 (10:59:15 PM): *seat.
Tacofiend3 (11:01:17 PM): As far as Zelda games go, I'd say that MM was near the bottom of my list.
Tacofiend3 (11:01:34 PM): It comes just before AoL
mushroompie27 (11:01:47 PM): Well, I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.
Tacofiend3 (11:02:04 PM): That's just me of course...
mushroompie27 (11:02:08 PM): Right.
mushroompie27 (11:02:26 PM): Because until TP comes out, I think it might be my favorite.
Tacofiend3 (11:02:30 PM): I'd say my favorite LoZ games in order as of now are OoT
Tacofiend3 (11:02:40 PM): WW
mushroompie27 (11:03:06 PM): TP might beat it out because you get the epic Arthurian legend vibe from OoT, plus a the surrealisticness of MM.
Tacofiend3 (11:03:09 PM): ALttP (haven't played through all the way yet; that might turn out to be my fav.)
Tacofiend3 (11:03:43 PM): The original, just because the idea of it is just so darn cool.
mushroompie27 (11:04:05 PM): I would be in love with the original if I wasn't spoiled by the new ones.
Tacofiend3 (11:04:09 PM): The Gamboy games are something I haven't really gotten into...
Tacofiend3 (11:04:29 PM): Then finally MM and then AoL.
Tacofiend3 (11:04:46 PM): I'm not going to bother with the CD-is
mushroompie27 (11:04:53 PM): Yeah.
mushroompie27 (11:04:56 PM): brb
Tacofiend3 (11:04:59 PM): k
mushroompie27 (11:11:04 PM): I'm back.
Tacofiend3 (11:11:17 PM): Cool.
mushroompie27 (11:12:33 PM): My order would be MM, then a really close tie between OoT and WW, then LttP, then Oracle of Ages, then the original, then Oracle of Seasons, and I haven't played enough of AoL and LA to give 'em fair judgement.
mushroompie27 (11:16:04 PM): I dunno, I guess MM tickles both my Zelda-loving and literature-loving fancies. I mean, I just thought of this- Clock town is the most technologically advanced place seen in Zelda, at least before WW. In the center of the town is the greatest machine of all, the clock tower. And this appex of human ingenuity is doing nothing more than counting down to the apocalypse.
mushroompie27 (11:16:30 PM): Something about that just, well, yeah.
Tacofiend3 (11:17:28 PM): The base story was cool and all but after a while, the gameplay just started to seem kind of dull.
Tacofiend3 (11:18:13 PM): I think I had the most fun playing the Swamp temple and the Great Bay Temple.
mushroompie27 (11:18:23 PM): I'd agree with that. I mean, they didn't really add anything from OoT aside from the clock, so gameplay-wise it's more of the same.
Tacofiend3 (11:18:26 PM): They were right to make it a SSBM level.
mushroompie27 (11:18:55 PM): My favorite temple is by far Stone Tower. Aside from that, I get most of my fun out of the sidequests.
Tacofiend3 (11:19:07 PM): The FDM puzzles were kinda fun to figure out too.
mushroompie27 (11:19:29 PM): ...I can't figure out what FDM stands for.
Tacofiend3 (11:19:48 PM): I think that if I had actually tried with Stone tower, I might have enjoyed it.
Tacofiend3 (11:19:54 PM): Fierce Diety
mushroompie27 (11:20:00 PM): Ah.
Tacofiend3 (11:20:15 PM): That Goron one took me a while....
mushroompie27 (11:20:16 PM): Yeah, those were fun.
mushroompie27 (11:20:18 PM): Me too.
Tacofiend3 (11:20:40 PM): I finally just realized that all you had to do was hold A
Tacofiend3 (11:25:59 PM): I posted that earlier bit about you ad Steven King up on convulsations.
mushroompie27 (11:26:09 PM): I saw.
mushroompie27 (11:28:32 PM): I wonder what other game TP Link will get. I mean, the first Link got Zelda I and II, the next one got ALttP and LA, the next one got OoT and MM, and the current one's getting WW and PH.
mushroompie27 (11:28:46 PM): And it just sort of hit me that every Link gets two game.
mushroompie27 (11:29:17 PM): Games.
Tacofiend3 (11:29:27 PM): Hrm. You're right....
Tacofiend3 (11:29:51 PM): That should be pretty cool,.... WOAH!
Tacofiend3 (11:30:06 PM): I just had an idea!
Tacofiend3 (11:30:10 PM): *whoa
mushroompie27 (11:30:23 PM): Holy spit. I just turned on Oath to Order. It's on a freakin' pipe organ. It sounds fantastic.
Tacofiend3 (11:32:11 PM): What if, for the game after TP, since you'll actually get to play as an adult Link in the previous one, why not TP Link's grandson in the next one?
Tacofiend3 (11:32:22 PM): Or son... whatever....
Tacofiend3 (11:33:19 PM): That would be awesome. You could have Ganon come and kill the old Link and then his decendant step up and bit him again.
mushroompie27 (11:33:28 PM): It's my theory that Orca in WW is TP's Link direct descendant.
Tacofiend3 (11:33:29 PM): *beat
mushroompie27 (11:33:32 PM): Or... wait....
mushroompie27 (11:33:39 PM): No, no, nevermind.
Tacofiend3 (11:33:49 PM): No, what was your idea?
mushroompie27 (11:34:11 PM): That Orca and TP Link were one in the same. But that of course leads to the issue that, you know, their names are different.
Tacofiend3 (11:34:37 PM): yeah...
mushroompie27 (11:35:26 PM): But yeah, you figure TP link is 17, I think. there's 100 years between OoT and WW, so that's really only time for two, three generations.
Tacofiend3 (11:36:47 PM): Well, he's actually 16, but whatever. You get to actually see Link progress into adulthood during the game.
mushroompie27 (11:37:12 PM): Yeah, that part confuses me. Is the game actually going to take place over multiple years?
Tacofiend3 (11:37:24 PM): I'm telling you, I'll bet that TP becomes my new favorite. That, or pretty close to it.
mushroompie27 (11:37:26 PM): Or do they mean a more mental maturity rather than physical?
mushroompie27 (11:37:38 PM): TP will DEFINITELY be my favorite as far as gameplay.
mushroompie27 (11:37:59 PM): It's atmosphere will certainly contend with MM, if not topple it.
mushroompie27 (11:38:02 PM): *Its
Tacofiend3 (11:38:16 PM): I'm hoping the story will be rockin'
Tacofiend3 (11:39:52 PM): Anyway, back to the maturity thing; I think it will actually take place over a set period of years. Of course, that may make it so finding certain items will be unavailable once you've progressed too far into the future...
mushroompie27 (11:39:55 PM): You can sorta kinda piece together a little bit of it right now. I mean, Twilight Realm pretty obviously = Sacred Realm which = Dark World. And I'm pretty positive that Midna is either a weakened form of Ganondorf manipulating Link to break free, or a servant to ol' Ganny.
mushroompie27 (11:40:15 PM): That would be interesting, though I would tear my hair out over it.
Tacofiend3 (11:40:37 PM): There were some theories that Midna might actually be Zelda...
mushroompie27 (11:40:38 PM): I wonder if he'll age when you trigger story events, or just as the story proceeds.
mushroompie27 (11:40:53 PM): Yeah, I've heard that, and thought it at one point too. I don't buy it though.
Tacofiend3 (11:41:05 PM): Probably just wen you've triggered story events...
mushroompie27 (11:41:19 PM): They've already played the "Zelda is actually the cool but mysterious ally except you don't know about it" card.
mushroompie27 (11:41:43 PM): Now, I by no means expect her to take a passive role.
Tacofiend3 (11:41:44 PM): Yeah, I know. Midna has too evil a grin on her face to really be considered as a Zelda possiblility.
Tacofiend3 (11:41:58 PM): *possibility
mushroompie27 (11:42:39 PM): You know what would really be cool? If the title were somehow referring to the Zelda in asleep in the tower that you awaken in Zelda II. If only for reference's sake.
Tacofiend3 (11:43:31 PM): I just thought it referred to the fact she was being held captive in the Twilight realm.
mushroompie27 (11:43:31 PM): You know, that just sort of hit me. Technically, the Zelda II Zelda is centuries older than Link, and yet they end up "together" at the end. I mean, I guess since she didn't age and was asleep that whole time it doesn't really matter, but still...
mushroompie27 (11:43:37 PM): You're probably right.
mushroompie27 (11:43:52 PM): Wait a second....
Tacofiend3 (11:44:05 PM): THE PLOT THICKENS!
mushroompie27 (11:44:34 PM): Twilight is sort of the time between light and dark. Maybe the Twilight Realm isn't Dark World at all, but a sort of middle ground between Dark World and Light World. That would make its name make sense.
Tacofiend3 (11:44:53 PM): Sort of like a neutral zone....
Tacofiend3 (11:45:00 PM): Like a gateway....
Tacofiend3 (11:45:13 PM): The transition....
mushroompie27 (11:45:17 PM): Yeah.
mushroompie27 (11:45:24 PM): I mean, why else call it Twilight?
Tacofiend3 (11:45:39 PM): *suddenly Rod Sterling begins to narrarate the conversation*
mushroompie27 (11:45:43 PM): XD
mushroompie27 (11:46:01 PM): Oh man, THAT'S what this game really needs to become a best seller. Rod Serling.
mushroompie27 (11:46:07 PM): Except... he's dead.
Tacofiend3 (11:46:21 PM): COMPUTERS SHALL REVIVE HIM!
mushroompie27 (11:46:27 PM): Er... yeah, sure.
Tacofiend3 (11:46:33 PM): In the form of CG of course....
Tacofiend3 (11:46:36 PM): like Yoda.
Tacofiend3 (11:47:20 PM): Maybe they can just splice in a couple of Twilight Zone clips...
Tacofiend3 (11:47:36 PM): That would break sales records...
Tacofiend3 (11:47:45 PM): again.
mushroompie27 (11:48:04 PM): I really hope the King of Hyrule plays a major part in this game like he did WW. He was a really interesting character and this is really their only other chance to flesh him out. Well, at least it is if you assume that I'm right about this game ending with the Flood.
Tacofiend3 (11:49:02 PM): I'l' bet you get to see him but he'll be a really frail old man whose had his power manipulated by Ganon and will probably die pretty early on.
mushroompie27 (11:49:18 PM): That would suck so much.
Tacofiend3 (11:49:31 PM): He was a pretty cool character though..
Tacofiend3 (11:50:05 PM): Maybe you'll get to see Ganon execute him publicly.
Tacofiend3 (11:50:25 PM): The King will be all valient, "I will not bow to you!"
Tacofiend3 (11:50:44 PM): Then Ganon will be like, "Then you shall die!"
Tacofiend3 (11:50:57 PM): Then he'll make an example.
mushroompie27 (11:51:47 PM): I mean, think of this; The Moblins 'n such besiege Hyrule Castle. The king runs outside just as Link activates the final temple or whatever, and the Flood is triggered. He just sort of stares up at the sky as raindrops fall, somewhat masking the tears streaming down his face. Link goes to Ganon's tower and beats the crap out of him, then seals Hyrule with the Master sword before getting to what will ultimately be Outset Island, the king sacrificing himself to ensure Link and Zelda a safe journey.
mushroompie27 (11:52:18 PM): Okay, so the timing of things might be a little mixed up with that because I didn't give it much thought, and it does seem a bit too much like WW's ending at the end there, but still.
Tacofiend3 (11:52:51 PM): They use Ganondorf for this one, right? Or has Ganon already transformed.
Tacofiend3 (11:52:54 PM): *?
Tacofiend3 (11:53:20 PM): I'm pretty sure it was before transformation...
Tacofiend3 (11:53:34 PM): Sacred Realmness....
Tacofiend3 (11:54:02 PM): Good God, this story's awesome!
mushroompie27 (11:54:24 PM): Okay, here's how it works. Ganondorf can use the Triforce of power to change into Ganon at will. In LttP, he's in the Dark World without a Moon Pearl, so his body reflects his soul, so he's trapped in Piggy Ganon's form. In WW, Link stabs Ganondorf in the head. At this point, Ganondorf's body has been entirely destroyed, and the only thing left is the evil that is Ganon.
mushroompie27 (11:54:47 PM): So we'll probably see both, though mostly Ganondorf.
Tacofiend3 (11:55:27 PM): So I'll bet will be getting that long-awaited Scimitar vs. Master Sword fight...
mushroompie27 (11:55:39 PM): Well, I mean, you got that in WW.
mushroompie27 (11:55:46 PM): Twin scimitars, even.
Tacofiend3 (11:55:50 PM): Dual swords!
Tacofiend3 (11:56:04 PM): I just want the big one!
Tacofiend3 (11:56:17 PM): Get some FF-esque stuff goin'!
mushroompie27 (11:56:25 PM): Maybe... oooh... maybe he can stick 'em together to form one sword.
mushroompie27 (11:56:27 PM): Oooh!
mushroompie27 (11:56:52 PM): Or maybe Link cuts the big one down the middle, and he fights WW Link with both halves of the original sword at the end.
Tacofiend3 (11:56:57 PM): XD. I'm just imagining you saying all of this....
Tacofiend3 (11:57:07 PM): Maybe...
mushroompie27 (11:57:36 PM): Seriously though, they'll be hard pressed to make me like Ganondorf as a character anymore after WW.
mushroompie27 (11:57:56 PM): He's right up there with Cap'n Hook for coolest villain after that game.
Tacofiend3 (11:58:01 PM): Ganondorf is quite a compelling character.
mushroompie27 (11:58:07 PM): He is.
Tacofiend3 (11:58:24 PM): He honestly reminds in a way of Hannibal Lecter.
mushroompie27 (11:58:29 PM): He was kind of your generic evil overlord type in OoT, but they fleshed him out beautifully in WW.
Tacofiend3 (11:58:39 PM): As far as ingenious characters go.
Tacofiend3 (11:58:58 PM): "The wind.... it's blowing...."
Tacofiend3 (11:59:10 PM): Sends chills up your spine, don't it?
mushroompie27 (11:59:22 PM): You know, I like that despite the fact that WW Link is the youngest and most "kiddy" version of the character, he's the one where it's most explicitly implied that he has sex.
mushroompie27 (11:59:39 PM): Because him and Zelda have to start populating a new world once they find it.
Tacofiend3 (11:59:53 PM): Yeah, I guess...
Tacofiend3 (12:00:20 AM): Where the heck did PH Link get a fairy though?
mushroompie27 (12:00:29 AM): He found it on the island he washed up on.
mushroompie27 (12:00:34 AM): If I remember right.
Tacofiend3 (12:01:03 AM): That's going to irritate me a little....
Tacofiend3 (12:01:19 AM): Since they've already done the fairy thing and what not...
mushroompie27 (12:01:47 AM): Eh, it's not like it's part of the story. It's just an excuse for a control scheme.
mushroompie27 (12:02:03 AM): Because if your stylus was on Link directly, well, you'd never get to see him.
Tacofiend3 (12:04:04 AM): I'm curious to see how Zelda on the DS is going to pan out.
Tacofiend3 (12:04:41 AM): What would have been neat is if they would have made a port of OoT like they did for Mario 64.
Tacofiend3 (12:05:08 AM): Except gave it a new control scheme and added a few extra things....
Tacofiend3 (12:05:13 AM): Of course,....
Tacofiend3 (12:05:42 AM): after Master Quest, anything else with OoT would seem a little redundant.
mushroompie27 (12:05:56 AM): Yeah, that's true.
There's some mad nerd talk for you, Zenodoros. _________________
