Halliburton Truck Driver Catches Ambush in Iraq on Video
Preston Wheeler, a Halliburton employee records an ambush that took place on his convoy in Iraq last year. The convoy of sixteen-wheeler trucks enters a small Iraqi town in which children are throwing rocks at the convoy. As they drive through the town they reach a dead end and have to back track their route. While they are going back from the dead end two Improvised Explosive Devices detonate disabling two of the trucks including his own.
The truck in front of him flips over. After the IED goes off and his truck is disabled his military backup leaves him in his truck and drives off with the rest of the convoy leaving him and the other fallen truck behind for the insurgents to continuing firing on. Wheeler pleads for help for the next 40 minutes until he his rescued. At the end of the video Wheeler witnesses the insurgent execute the driver of truck three ahead of him. Three other truck drivers died in this ambush by insurgent fire.

Wheeler was hit by two rounds in his right arm from an ak-47.
Two months after the ambush, he was fired from Halliburton, citing a "work-related" injury.
